I would like to personally welcome everyone to Preferred College of Nursing � Los Angeles (PCNLA). We know that you are here to pursue your interest in the healthcare field. We will do our best to ensure that you will be satisfied with the quality of education and training we offer you. Our faculty and staff are here to help you.

Florence Nightingale once said, "Nursing is an art: and if it is to be made an art, it requires an exclusive devotion as hard a preparation, as any painter's or sculptor's work; for what is the art having to do with dead canvas or dead marble, compared with having to do with the living body, the temple of God's spirit? It is one of the Fine Arts: I had almost said the finest of Fine Arts.�

PCNLA see nursing as a calling to be administrators of physical, emotional and spiritual care; one that requires scientifically based knowledge and skill to be provided in caring and artistic ways. People who enter the field of nursing are mainly motivated by the desire to care for people, and it is true that as a nurse you will have a tremendous impact on the lives of those you serve.
